Wonderful little Podenco rescued by Levriers & Co
Snoop leaving today – just in time we feel!

Snoop has Leishmaniosis and would not have survived much longer in the refuge. Thanks to Levriers & Co, he has now gone to a wonderful foster home where he is getting lots of care and vital veterinary care. He couldn’t be in a better place and we hope he will soon be able to recover enough to enjoy life. Thanks to everyone who helped Snoop in his desperate need!
Beaten and ill-treated all his poor life, Nip is now adopted into a caring and loving home and he’s in seventh heaven!
Rescued from a Great Dane’s horror – confinement in a refuge!
He was fostered to save him from the damp and cold – he made himself at home and they couldn’t bear to let him go!
This big chocolate coloured softie got lucky and found his perfect home.
Lady, despite her sad face is full of mischief – she has found a very caring home and is having a very happy life. Lucky girl.
Douchka was shot in the eye and had to have it removed! She was then discovered to by carrying puppies! Adopted by a loving family she is now the happy mum of 8 gorgeous puppies!
Sola was rescued from the River Lot in December! We wish her well in her new home!
Pingui, sister to Kinder below, has gone to a country home where she is top dog! Both these pups have found happy lives after being thrown over the wall of the dog pound at Christmas!
Kinder has a fabulous home with lots of new farm friends and a house pig who sleeps in the kitchen! He’s one happy young pup!
The Christmas Story pups – all homed!
At 10 years old and not having been terribly well looked after, Youpi has been adopted by his foster family and look at him now! How rewarding is that to see! Clea – now Clara – was adopted by a friend of Dog::links and we are now happy to report that after being treated for a large parasitic burden that was impacting hugely on her health, this little dog is bounding back to health and happiness. Here she is relaxed, clean, warm and a very much happier and we are sure she will have several good years ahead of her now she is in a safe, experienced and caring home. We need more homes like this for dogs like this!! Beautiful little Tia found a wonderful home with lots of new friends, including a turkey who rounds up the sheep and who has now also fallen in love with Tia! She’s made herself right at home. Gus travelled half way across France to find his new home! There he settled in immediately with his new pal – a gentle Newfoundland giant! If you believe in angels – one came out of the shadows to help this little soul! Otto is resting and eating and can’t believe his good luck! His foster ‘mum’ is keeping us updated every day. The generous donations will help to provide the special diet he’s getting to rebuild his immune system and put some meat on his emaciated body! He has medication for his swollen paws and his arthritis and after 10 days he will be taken back to the vet for assessment as to how he’s progressing. His spirit is strong and he’s kindness shows through those lovely lovely eyes as you can see here from the new pictures in his foster home! Please help us save this dog from the stark parting from this world at the end of a vet’s needle never having known any care and affection! He found his way into an English couple’s garden shed and they have been feeding him. He’s gentle and allows the lady to stroke him but he’s very afraid of the husband……. and of course we understand why. This poor dog has suffered at the hands of a cruel huntsman and has either miraculously escaped or was simply thrown out! He has no name and no hope unless we help him to have a life after all his suffering. Bambi is 4 years old, vaccinated, chipped and spayed. She’s good with other dogs, children and adores people, though she’s a good guard and will bark till given the OK when people come to the house. She’s good with her cat but likes to chase other people’s – so not necessarily a committed cat chaser! Her owner is going back to the UK and cannot take Bambi with her sadly and wants to find her the right home before she goes at the end of the year. Not everyone can give a St Bernard room! Bambi does not need lots of exercise as she prefers to just trot around the garden and gentle walks – needs cool place in summer to escape the heat of the day! This is poor little Callie, a beagle of about 4 years old. She was brought to the refuge at the beginning of April, having been found tied to a tree in the middle of a field with her pups, doing her best to keep alive! She was starving and covered in ticks and fleas and in a dreadful state. One of the pups didn’t survive, but the rest found homes and Callie was left distressed and alone in the SPA. Callie was fostered and shown lots of affection which enabled her to trust and come out of her shell. She has been adopted by a lady who has two other Beagles whom Callie will be joining in a couple of weeks after she recovers from being spayed. She has found a wonderful home! She has spent the last 4 months in the NOAH Rescue “finding her feet”,running the woods with me, and re-gaining her trust in humans .Its been an uphill struggle but her gentleness has shone through and I always knew she would “pull through”!! Thanks everyone that has helped make this adoption possible not least her wonderful caring new owners, Mr and Mrs Ward. Melissa Martyn- NOAH Rescue. Muppet’s story is a long complicated one and bless her, she’s been through a lot! But despite all, she inspired us with the confidence to keep searching for the right home for her – she’s a lovely character, very intelligent and her new owners think she’s just a star! So we got there in the end and Muppet has found the place where she belongs at long last after a year of looking! Happy days Muppet sweet girl. Stressed and no one to help him understand! This beautiful dog was left tied to a railway track! He’s a young setter cross (possibly spaniel) whose owners were tracked down because he’s chipped (250269200053140)and he is now also vaccinated. It turns out he has been passed from one owner to the next (stolen) and has had a terribly confusing time. His owners basically now no longer want him back because the lady of the house is pregnant and doesn’t want him around any more! This poor dog knows he’s been abandoned and cries and cries and barks and barks – this level of stress will eventually bring him down as it will make him ill…. This boy needs to get out very quickly to a loving home and why not, he’s so beautiful and settles down immediately he has your attention and feels a kind touch. Some dogs ‘manage’ the stress, chaos and confinement of the refuge and some don’t…. Bouba will not and needs help! Update – Bouba has gone to a kind foster home and is a different dog! We will be getting updates on his progress but to date he is being wonderful and is really blossoming with the care and attention – thank you so much to his foster carers! This charming little fellow is 4yrs old and very friendly indeed. A very kind English person found him on the side of the road and took him in after he then found him parked on his doormat! He has been seen by the vet, given a clean bill of health. No ID and is not castrated. He is very soft, a pleasure to be around we are told, sleeps in the kitchen at night and is clean and non destructive so has maybe been used to living indoors which rules out him being kept for hunting – sounds like he’s been a pet as he is so sensible and keen for human contact. He’s good with hens and other dogs – good ‘brownie points’ for a little terrier indeed! Lily is a small ‘Dulux’ dog look alike – very pretty and very affectionate. She is not much more than a year old and we are surprised she hasn’t been snapped up…….. but it’s that time of year! Too many dogs being abandoned and Lily apparently just the same as she was found wandering, hungry and thirsty some while ago now, so unclaimed poor little thing. Old English Sheepdog type in smaller version, she is vaccinated and will be chipped on adoption. She’s just a nice size to fit into your home, car and family life – full of love and ready to please and far too hot right now in her concrete box! Fantastic home for this little boy! Here he is on his way. Leo is about 6yrs old and is in need of a home urgently! He was found wandering last summer and finished up at the refuge in Cahors unclaimed. He was adopted/fostered by a lady but now very unfortunately one of her other foster dogs has decided he doesn’t like Leo and has twice attacked him quite badly, requiring veterinary treatment! She feels that Leo stands a better chance of being re-homed, than the larger aggressive one, as he’s a good dog and gets on well with other dogs. He’s clearly in a dangerous position with this other dog and needs to get away as soon as possible so please, if you can give Leo a good home, preferably on his own, contact us. His old bones facing another cold damp winter! Dear Brutus is 13 years old and has had a hard life! He’s .been in the refuge far too long now and desperately needs a cosy bed by a warm hearth instead of another winter in his cold damp cage with little respite from the winds that blow! It’s no way for this old boy to end his days and he’s just such a friendly soul, who wanders around looking for affection and the odd tit-bit if the staff have a moment to spare for him. It’s sad and it’s wrong for this to be happening to him. If you think that you could find a place in your heart to give patient Brutus some comfort and TLC, probably for the first time in his life, you will be undoubtedly be rewarded with his dedicated love and affection for the rest of his days. He’s vaccinated, chipped and in good health but with not much meat on his bones, he’s soon going to be feeling that chill in the air once more…. Please contact us on : 05 65 69 12 26 or email on :doglinks.fr@gmail.com to help Brutus. Thank you! Lester arrived at the refuge in Cahors in bad shape – exhausted, frightened and hungry. He’s 10 years old and apart from a little stiffness in his joints, he’s in good health – heart lungs etc. He is gentle, friendly and spends most of his day alone just lying down – he’s sad! We suspect he has been discarded due to his age and probably due to his owner dying or having to go into a home. Either way this dog is going to go down hill at the refuge and he has some good life left in him to be a loyal and grateful companion. He could do with lots of TLC, a good brush and a warm hearth to sleep by in the coming months to keep his old bones warm. Max is a beautiful dog! On top of that he’s a good dog! He’s now in a spot of bother as he was adopted last May from the SPA in Carcassonne but his owner has now moved to a new home without a garden and so lets him just roam around ….. one of the volunteers from the SPA happened to see him in the middle of traffic on a roundabout and recognised him!! She took him back to his owner who said she doesn’t want him any more…… People do make us wonder sometimes! So poor Max is therefore needing a new home urgently (there will be no adoption fee if we manage to keep him from going back into the refuge). He is 6yrs old, castrated. vaccinated and chipped (no 250 269 604 207 387) and is a harlequin border collie with one blue and one brown eye. Sociable with other dogs and cats and children. Loves travelling in cars. Her owners couldn’t take her back to the UK with them but she found a wonderful new home with an English couple and settled quickly into her new surroundings – she’s very happy and has a good life to look forward to thanks to her new owners. Mother is a Labrador cross (seen in the picture above) and the father is an Alsation, both with beautiful kind, good temperaments. These puppies are being well raised by their mother and kind owner – but very very sadly this lady has just discovered she has a terminal illness that will mean she will have to find homes for the puppies and the parents. The mother was a recent rescue and the ‘accident’ happened before the owner had time to get her spayed as she was taken ill soon after the adoption. Sad update on this poor lady who has now been taken into hospital and the parents and pups sent to the SPA in Gueret! Poor lady is feeling so very unwell and distraught at her beloved dogs having to go into a refuge!! It’s awful! All these puppies will grow into well adjusted and beautiful dogs if given good homes and the right care – both parents can be seen if you call our contact :- Jacqueline Pearce on 05 55 63 12 78 or email us at doglinks.fr@gmail.com and we will put you in touch. Nice dogs! Four month old English Setter pups – brothers looking for a home with people who understand the breed. Zeus was found hobbling with a damaged leg and in a bad way a few weeks ago in all that heat. He was taken to the refuge in Cahors and later examined by a vet. His leg was found to be too far gone to save and after a few days of rest and food he was able to cope with an operation to amputate the leg. The pictures show you how he came through with the help of a volunteer from the refuge who took him home to recover. Zeus is six months old and a brilliant dog! He’s been so calm and patient, even tempered and kind despite the pain he was in and wonderfully loving to everyone around him. He’s good with ALL other dogs, cats and children – how could you want for more? Zeus needs a home where he can get on with his life – a caring and considerate home where he can carry on with the rest of his rehabilitation – he’s got the muster he just needs the support and love he deserves for being so full of character and gentleness. Doglinks has homed two other front leg amputees who’s owners keep us in touch and tell us what a joy these dogs are to own – once their other leg muscles strengthen and take up the balance, their lives are no different to their four legged friends. We are thrilled to report that Zeus’s foster mum has decided that he is such a lovely dog and she has grown so fond of him that she has decided to adopt him! Lucky and most deserving boy!! Benno is a beautiful 2 or 3 year old spaniel cross who has obviously had a hard time. She turned up at a house in a sorry state, evidently recently having had pups. She was very timid and wary but with the love an affection given to her, has turned into a lovely girl. Look at this superb dog! Paxton is 4 yrs old and a fine example of his breed! He is tattooed, neutered and regularly vaccinated. His owners have had him from a puppy. Brought up with other dogs so no problems there, good with children, house trained, good on the lead and travels well in the car. He is not good with CATS! In short Paxton is the ideal dog for a country family who is prepared to give him lots of exercise and affection. Little Albert arrived in a nearby village a week or so ago with an old rope round his neck. He spent days and days going from house to house seeking food and affection. He is being cared for temporarily until he can come to Poorpaws but wouldn’t it be great if he could go directly to a new home? All attempts have been made to find out where he comes from but to no avail. A small dog, about the size of a Jack Russell, Albert has proved to be fine with cats, other dogs, chickens and geese! He is about 6 years old, seems to be blind in one eye and will very shortly be vaccinated and neutered. A lovely little chap who deserves to find a happy home. If you can find a place in your home for the very lovable small Albert, please contact us on: 05 65 69 12 26 or email us direct on :- doglinks.fr@gmail.com He’s a character, it shows and he loves everyone so will make the perfect companion and friend. Saphir is a beautiful 2/3 yr old boy – abandoned and unclaimed from the pound. Chip number (250269500440220) and vaccinated. He needs a good home, preferably without cats and children we feel – also if you don’t know about this breed it would be best to read up about them as they are quite special. Saphir has been a bit neglected and has some sore skin spots that are now being treated – but he’s a grand chap. There could be no happier dogs! From wandering lost but always together, completely inseparable – to a home together, happy and belonging once more! They were found wandering together and brought in to the refuge earlier in the year and never reclaimed! Two lovely dears who had to stay together as one just could not be without the other and were very stressed when separated. They found life in the refuge hard, distressing and frightening so a volunteer from the refuge got took them home and from there we managed to find them THE most wonderful home together! Such a heart warming ending for these two – one of our top adoptions of the year so far! He found freedom from his prison and felt the touch of home and care but now this lovely chap is going to have to go back into a refuge! Please help him? Cody on his way home today!! Tears were shed! This dog needs our help urgently now. Various blood tests have shown that he does NOT have any diseases, just sheer neglect! He is only about 6 years old, with bags of life left in him and as gentle as can be – so gentle in fact that you don’t even know he’s on the end of the lead. He is patient. brilliant with cats and grateful to just to be fed and paid what little attention the volunteers can manage – but the refuge feel he will never find a home and have therefore just left him amongst the forgotten ones, who will eventually end up on the list for euthanasia when the place becomes too full of dogs during the holiday period. We need to prove them wrong and find this lovely soul a home because if ever a dog deserved some love and affection, Cody does! This lovely pair have both gone to good caring homes. Sadly it was not possible to keep them together, but as it turns out we hear they are both happy in their new lives with other pals and so we feel relieved and satisfied that it turned out for the best. Never easy to home two together and often carefully thought out separation in younger dogs works out, as in this case. This pretty little girl is only two years old and more of a poodle than other. She was rescued recently from the SPA – given a clip, shampoo and set from Katrina and lots of TLC. She is tattooed (2GWW855) and vaccinated but came into season shortly after her release so will be spayed later. JUST HEARD THAT THIS LOVELY GIRL HAS FOUND A WONDERFUL HOME! Ursa is about 8 years old. She has had a really sad time. She’s been at the SPA in Gueret since February 2008. She was found in a disused warehouse with her puppies and was so traumatised that she had to be tranquilised before they could get her out. At the SPA, she was very timid and frightened and stayed in her sleeping quarters when people came look ing at dogs, so has been missed for two years and more! She’s a real beauty in character as well as looks. Overlooked for 2 years, since he was a puppy and now he’s heading for hit list!! Next up for a one-way trip to the vet! Some dogs just get left behind in refuges. Either their kennel is in a bad position, or their appearance behind the bars of their cage puts people off. Whatever the reason, there is no doubt that there are some real gems out there who just never get a chance and here is one such dog! Jazzy has been at the SPA Carcassonne for almost 2 years, which makes him the longest resident by far. The staff person who looks after him cannot understand why he has never been picked and neither can the volunteers. Sadly his colour goes against him as black dogs struggle to find homes for some inexplicable reason. But, we found Jazzy a home at last and he is now learning how to live in a home instead of a cage. He now has many happy years ahead bless him, saved from the ‘needle’ and no more cold nights in his concrete cell thanks to a caring English lady! Many thanks Steph! Chanel is a very calm 4 yr old who has a sweet, trusting nature and walks beautifully on the lead. She is not spayed. This gentle lovely dog was rescued, very emaciated, from shocking circumstances, along with two others – they were three survivors living among corpses of other dogs who had already starved to death! Chanel’s trusting and affectionate nature has shone through since then and all she needs now is a kind, caring home with a family she can lavish her clear appreciation and love of humans on…… isn’t that just wonderful considering her shocking story? Dalton is 2 years old, micro chipped (250269201045486) and vaccinated. When he looks at you with those sad eyes it’s heartbreaking! He is so overlooked because his appearance isn’t anything out of the ordinary but his character is gentle yet playful and very loving……… and he’s pining now as he’s been in his cage for far too long. We need to find this boy a home because it’s his turn! One of the volunteers describes him as a Norwegian cliff dog that hunt Puffins – he does impossible gymnastics with his ears – has a thick semi-long coat and a tail held high when he comes towards you in greeting. He adores and craves affection and he tries hard to persuade you not to leave him when you visit his cage bless him – see the last picture! Beautiful Giga is about 10 months old – thankfully she didn’t stay long in the refuge! Galice is a 1 yr old female, not very big, spaniel labrador cross we think. She is very very affectionate and seeks lots of attention – very playful and endearing. She will be vaccinated and chipped. Please leave a comment here or contact us direct at :- doglinks.fr@gmail.com for more information on Galice. Thank you! He’s homed! Such a happy ending for this lovely sad boy! Here he is with one of his new chums getting some much needed shut-eye and peace! Thank you so much R&C. These two little rascals are half brother and sister – born on the same day, same father but different mothers. They are 18 months old, both neutered, chipped and vaccinated, with impeccable pedigrees! Their elderly owner has recently been taken seriously ill and his wife is now struggling with many financial problems and worries. They would like them to go to a home together but could be separated if necessary. Calm, gentle and loves children! Gigi is a beautiful girl with a pretty face. She is small to medium sized, about 1 year old, chipped (250269201047871) and vaccinated. She needs to find a loving home where she can gain her confidence and blossom. She has the most beautiful eyes and markings. Gigi gets on well with other dogs, but has obviously not had much chance to build up her trust with people yet, but she’s game to try and enjoys being fussed. Right now she’s sad as the last picture shows – help give her back a life and show her not all people are bad! Please leave a comment or contact us direct at:- doglinks.fr@gmail.com Update on this lovely little girl – one of the volunteers at the refuge has taken pity on this lovely little dog and taken her home to foster. As we thought, Gigi is a really super dog and has shown huge appreciation at being out of the refuge and in a home straight away. She’s being so well behaved and good with cats that we know for sure that she’s going to be a wonderful pet for someone. The volunteer cannot keep her so she still needs a home but now we know so much more about her and she is so much happier poor little girl. You will have a truly superb little friend if you choose to adopt Gigi, of that we are now sure! This is a small, very pretty Podenca. She is sharing a cell with Piglet at the moment and so is going to miss her when she goes next week. Doglinks rescued one of this breed from Spain 18 months ago (she is now part of the resident pack here) and we can honestly say that they are wonderful little dogs with extraordinary little characters! This little dog with pleading eyes needs to find a loving home asap so please think about her – she will be chipped and vaccinated before adoption and if you would like to know more about her please contact us for more information at:- doglinks.fr@gmail.com Little female jack russell cross, no more than 1yr old if that – VERY sweet! She is very scared by all the chaos and noise in the refuge and we are very surprised that she hasn’t been snapped up as a lot of the little ones usually are, especially as she is so cute. She will be chipped and vaccinated upon adoption. For more information on this lovely little dog who really needs to find a loving home, please contact us at:- doglinks.fr@gmail.com No more depression for this sweet little dog thank goodness. She has gone to a home that was made for her and will be getting all the attention she needs to come back to life! She has some health to recover with the help of her new owners who adore her but she’s getting the TLC needed and well, here she is looking relexed and so much happier and alert! What love can do! This timid, shy and frightened little girl found a wonderful new home with people who travelled the length of France to collect her! She was confident enough to greet them and not be afraid – perhaps she knew? Happy ending for a sad little girl and many thanks to her amazing new owners! Here are the pictures of her waiting for them to arrive and their meeting. This adoption made our hearts sing! A very special little boy who found his home at last and his new owners tell us he’s been so well behaved! He is now adored and we are not surprised. Here is the day he left – happy dog or what?? Here she is with her new friend! The latest news on this sweet deaf dog is that her French owners (who wanted to put her down!) say they have found someone to take her after they were shamed into letting Hope Association take some pictures of her at the vet’s surgery – we know nothing more than that and can only hope that her new French owners are kind to her! This lovely fellow was very distressed and had waited a long time to find a home – good luck Titan, you deserve it! Toto in just under 3yrs old and knee high to a butterfly! Due to tragic circumstances, she is going to be homeless in two days time! But she’s been adopted and it would be hard not to see why – cute or what! The cute ones go to homes quickly usually, so spare a thought for the others that might not quite have that ‘grab me appeal’ – they are lovely too! Here is Diamant with his wonderful new owner! Be a good boy now! Diamant is a 3yr old Labrador cross, black with a small white patch on his chest, in very good health with good shiny coat. Vaccinated and micro chipped (PUCE:250269801281325). A lovely, easy dog, sociable with everyone and other dogs. Calm temperament, happy character despite being abandoned by his mistress – first to her brother, who had too many other dogs to be able to take on another one. Diamant escaped and tried to return to his old home only to be abandoned again to the Refuge. This dog just needs a loving family home and will make a wonderful pet and friend. He thought he had a home and doesn’t understand why he was thrown out. He needs an enclosed garden till he gets settled – he’s a grand lad and will be a joy to own. Please leave us a comment if you like him and think he could be your kind of dog, or email us direct on:- doglinks.fr@gmail.com Cosette (now Chelsea) went to a lovely English family who are helping her to re-adjust to a caring life. She is very timid and her time spent prior to and during her lonely and stressful refuge existence have depressed her. However her new owner keeps us in touch and we feel sure that she will soon bounce back and be a very active member of the household – their other dog is being very gentle and welcoming towards her……. taking her toys! We don’t really understand how dogs’ minds work, but for sure they figure things out in the end which is what makes them so worth helping on all fronts no matter what! Thank you for helping this pretty little girl. Rex is just another dog getting on in years 10 1/2, but his owner loved him enough to have him vaccinated every year including rabies, although typically French he was never castrated. The future is looking very bleak for Rex, he will be put down unless some kind soul comes forward to adopt him, and if they do they will have done a wonderful thing. Giving an older dog even a few extra years of lying in the sun, will repay their kindness 100 fold. Old dogs are a bit like old people, they have their own stories to tell, and if you give Rex a chance, his story will be an interesting one. At home with his new pals! He’s clean in the house now after just a few days and knows his new name Eric! He’s made himself at home and is a star his new owners tell us! We love it when it all turns out right in the end! YES, HE’S GONE TO A NEW HOME AND THIS TIME WE THINK HE HAS FOUND HIS FOREVER HUMANS!!! Here’s his new ‘Mum’ Third time lucky, this lovely character and escape artist, found his place! Good boy Saxo! Finally, someone saw past all that scruffy hair to the lovely dog beneath and his very sweet character! Happy times ahead for Griff at last. Thank you. I spoke to you this morning about trying to re-home a lovely dog called “Chippie” (in French, it means naughty, mischievous). We met her several months ago and noticed the neglect and ignorance that was part of her life, with unwanted births, very basic food, little love, but no cruelty. Last Tuesday, she gave birth for the second time, (we think she is about 3 years old) and then her owner decided she wanted to get rid of her and just keep one of the puppies. We have been keeping a close eye on Chippie, she is a medium sized dog and to see her just having bread and water when breast-feeding her only surviving puppy (the other three were killed by the owner) made me contact you for help. Chippie is a loving dog, very affectionate, ready to please, with a very loving nature, not a nasty bone in her, we can even touch her precious puppy and not a sound from her, just these big brown eyes just asking for tender care and a better life. I attach some pictures of Chippie which I hope will give her a chance to live and have a decent and happy life. Thanks to this extremely kind lady’s intervention and persistence, Chippie (now renamed Canelle) has a wonderful home to go to! Excellent news! Obedient, wonderful companion and a true “friend”. Happy with other dogs but equally happy on her own. No problem being left for short periods of up to 3/4 hours, although prefers to be indoors if left, not in a garden. Loves to be brushed becomes ecstatic almost! Loves her food but needs regular walks and attention to diet as she is slightly on the heavy side at the moment but that is being dealt with slowly. Walks without a lead and comes immediately to a call or whistle. Although 10 years old she has plenty of life left in her. Will accept cats, equally good with men and women. Can try to dominate a dog but will respond immediately to command on behaviour if instructed to “leave”. Country or town living but walks essential as she still really “gets a high” when out for a jaunt and adores her walks! Fine in car. Sweety is sterilised, vaccinated and chipped. Just a lovely easygoing dog who asks very little in return for affection, a warm fireside in winter, a sunny garden and her own human to love! Both these little rascals have now been adopted! If you love big dogs then you will adore Zen, with possibly Great Dane somewhere in his ancestory this handsome 10/12 month old dog has the gentlest of natures and is non Alpha. Zen was abandoned and hit by a car, by the time he was found his broken leg had set and healed itself, and the vet was happy to leave it well alone. Zen was then adopted by an English couple but sadly due to health reasons they feel they cannot keep him. He now has a lovely new home thanks to the Hope Association. Zak was abandoned by his owners and his future was very insecure when a caring English couple took him off the street and have now decided to keep him!! Lucky boy! Now here’s a story! Bonnie was found last summer and taken to the Spa in Carcassonne – for nine months she’s been patiently waiting for a home. Yesterday a couple arrived at the refuge to look at her because they had seen her picture on the internet where our contacts often post rescue dogs, and seemed to think she looked familiar….. It turns out that ‘Bonnie’ – real name Etna – had been stolen (60kms away) and these were her owners who had been searching for her all these months never giving up. It was a grand reunion and these good people emptied what they had in the wallet as a contribution towards her keep for all these months. This was such a stroke of luck as she could have been re-homed and they would never have found her! Thank you internet! Happy happy ending! Stella is 2 yrs old and being so small, she is no trouble on the lead, is happy to stop at any time for a pat and a cuddle. She is probably not great with cats, but would be happy as a second dog. With no apparent bad points we cannot work out why this little girl has been left at the refuge. She is very friendly and really sweet natured, and just wants to be loved. She now has a home!! He is 8 years old, castrated, chipped and has all his papers. He’s presently still in kennels but urgently needs to get away as he has been bullied by other dogs in the past and the kennel environment is very upsetting for him and he’s having a rough time. We are desperately looking for a foster home for him whilst we find him a permanent loving home. He’s an extremely gentle, affectionate loving fellow who will respond to kind training. Over Christmas, a stunning Golden Labrador and her new- born pups were admitted to the local pound in Bergerac. The babies were due to be euthanised, so Phoenix stepped in and rescued the whole family. She’s safe and happy now. These two delightful little boys have gone off to good homes! Sadie is a small Kromfohrlander, a breed from Germany used as a companion dog. Weighing in at about 7kg, Sadie is the perfect pooch to cuddle up with – and she does like to cuddle and has lovely soft fur! Small enough to take anywhere, good on the lead and calm around cats, Sadie is a lovely little girl who would love to find a family to share all her love with. Sadie was born in August 2008. Hello – I cannot get over what a wonderful dog Sultan is! He makes our purebred Aussies look bad. In one day he learned to walk on the leash. In one day he went from not getting in the car to hopping in the car. He had one accident in the house, but now seems to “get” that you go outside. He went on a long walk in the countryside without a leash and stayed with us the entire time. He gets along great with the other dogs. He sits. He couches. He waits. He’s quiet. He’s gentle . .. . with everyone. He had that “dog, open mouth” chew on you thing going, and he seems to have stopped that.H e’s open to going new places and is very gentle with other dogs and people. Since we have four dogs already, I would have been happy to offer him to anyone to adopt . . . however, we like him so much that we can’t imagine not having him. We’re very happy that Sultan found us Hugs, Biskit was adopted from the SPA in Carcassonne, through doglinks, a few weeks ago in a really bad state! He was so very poorly that the kind couple who drove several hours to collect him not knowing how bad he was, are to be admired for not shying away from taking this poor dog on.. He had deteriorated very badly during the time it took for them to be able to pick him up and but for their dedicated care, countless visits to the vet and sleepless nights, Biskit would not be alive today! But look at him now! Isn’t he amazing? This dog was saved and is now much loved by his new English owners and we applaud their achievement and their untold care for this lovely dog – he’s one lucky boy! This is Charme, a 2 yr old border collie cross with very unusual colouring. Rather than being black, her fur is a beautiful rich reddish brown. When this dog is taken out of her cage she stand out immediately as being special. She walks beautifully on the lead, has good basic obedience along with the border collie’s intelligence and desire to please. She shares her kennel with another female and gets on with all the dogs she has met so far. She’s real delight! The first person who meets her will surely adopt her. update – not surprisingly this beautiful dog was homed – we did say she’s a charmer and beautiful with it! Oscar and his brother Sony were left on their own in a flat for several months after their owner died – the owner’s family didn’t want them so just fed them once a day. Finally they decided they would have them put down, which is when they came to the attention of a kind lady who told us and we managed to find them some foster care. Both Oscar and his brother have been adopted – very happy they are too as you can see from pictures of Oscar added here! These two dear things have had a stroke of luck as we have managed to get them a place at Poorpaws (link on the right of this page) with our friend Sue. From here they have found a new home together – good result Sue! Mimi was a little monkey who attached herself jealously to Sue at Poorpaws after she arrived – she was so grateful to be out of the cold, crowded refuge in Carcassonne. Ironically she was then adopted by a lovely couple who came all the way from Carcassonne to the Lot to see her and take her back with them…!!! She’s now being very spoiled as the only dog and loving her happy ending! Many thanks to her kind new owners for adopting her. Ellie was found near Villereal, she had been hanging around an empty house for over a week. The house has now sold and we have to assume that this poor little dog was just left behind! She has been to the vet, no tattoo or microchip and no one has left word at the local Mairie about a lost dog. The vet says she’s about a year old. A very kind English lady has taken her in and says she is very good with her young daughter, their dogs and five cats! She cannot keep her but says she is very happy to help get her to a new loving home if one can be found. She says this dog is far too sweet to put in the SPA if it can be avoided and deserves the home comforts she clearly likes, like sleeping by the fire and some good food! She’s no trouble and would make an excellent family pet. However she would need a fenced garden we think, as, for the moment, she is still unsure and possibly feels the urge to get back to her old home and find the ones who left her……. poor loyal little dog. Happy Ellie! KIKO is a lovely working Springer Spaniel who was rescued from Spain and brought to France in the hope of finding him a good home here. Kiko is about 3 years old, is micro-chipped, (94000002832836) castrated and vaccinated. Tested negative for Leishmania and has also had his rabies vaccination. This is a lovely dog who needs time, love and training to regain his confidence. Unfortunately he is not very good with cats and would require an enclosed garden until fully trained. He is house trained and clean. Good news for this beautiful dog – he was adopted by a couple who already have two Springers and understand the breed. He is going to need a lot patience! Hopefully he will soon learn that his life will now be without fear and settled at last. We are very pleased for him. Bren was rescued from shocking circumstances – she was in a pen starving, out in the snow without any shelter and all skin and bone! But for some kind English neighbours who alerted us to her plight she would never have survived. It is the miracle of a dog’s capacity to still give its affection and trust that astounds us constantly, no matter how badly they are treated by man! Bren is going to her new home today thanks to the large amounts of TLC she has received from her rescuer since that dreadful day in December and a kind new family who saw her on here! Cheers all round! Good Luck Bren and huge thank you to Jackie. Lucky Fulham had a good start at Poorpaws, unlike so many in the refuges and has now found a new forever home. We wish him a long and happy life. This lovely dog has waited patiently whilst she was lovingly cared for at Poorpaws after being rescued from the SPA in Carcassonne. Sue will miss her very much.

We found Coca the home of her dreams!

Coca is fox terrier size, small Griffon cross, 3 years old, sterilised, chipped 250 269 500 411 089, vaccinated and very affectionate. She is clean in the house, calm and fine with other dogs, but NOT cats! Frightened of unknown noises and strangers. Otherwise a clean and calm little dog. This sweet little lady was adopted some months ago, but her owners live right in the middle of Cahors and have decided they need to find her a new home – she finds town dwelling very frightening, with the noise of traffic, people etc – she often gets out and so it’s only a matter of time before there is an accident! This does not sound like an ideal home for her. We hope that the owners will hang on to her till we find her a new home rather than return her to the Refuge which would be traumatic for her. Coca needs a country home with an enclosed garden with lots of TLC and will make a really ideal companion for an outdoor couple who have time and love to shower on her. Please contact us at:- doglinks.fr@gmail.com to have more information on Coca if you feel you can give her the home she needs and help keep her from being taken back to the refuge in this heat! Update :- Sadly Coca has now been taken back to the refuge in Cahors and as expected, she is not doing well at all poor little girl! She’s very panic stricken and needs to find a foster home asap – please can anyone help her till we can find her the home she needs please? This pair re-homed together just in time!

Beau & Tess are brother and sister born in August 2005, making them just over 5 years old. Their mother was an English pedigree Golden Labrador, their father was a French Beauceron. They are beautifully behaved, very well trained in the house, both very affectionate, good with children and other animals. They are both fully vaccinated, neutered and chipped – they have EU passports and are having their blood tests done for UK passports at the moment so will be able to travel to the UK in just over six months. They are simply ideal family dogs! It is imperative that they stay together as they are real soul mates and look after each other. They are really no trouble, are good on and off the lead, Tess will stay near you but Beau will run around all the time, always making sure you are in sight and they both come when called. These dogs will make fine companions and their current owners, who are concerned to see them re-homed as soon as possible as they are emigrating to Australia and cannot take them with them, but they want them to have the right home. Please leave us a comment or contact us on:- doglinks.fr@gmail.com and we can put you in touch. Wonderful chance to own two very lovely dogs who are a joy to have around.Albert got lucky!
Saphir adopted and out of the heat of his cage at last!
Gao – beautiful boy has been adopted!

Gao is a beautiful tri-colour border collie and a really cool customer with no problems at all – sociable with other dogs, and just loves people. He’s calm and loves to play with anyone prepared to spend the time with him – what more can one ask in a dog! He just gets overlooked as some do!! No rhyme or reason! A handsome lad with a bright outlook on life just waiting for someone to take him home and give him a some happiness!! He’s 2 years old, micro chipped (puce N°:250269201041731) and vaccinated.Ali & Baba

Their loving new owners say “As with most rescue dogs, one rarely knows their history, but they say dogs have no yesterday or tomorrow – just live for TODAY, so we aim to make their lives as happy and healthy as possible. The rewards we get from them are endless. As said before we cannot understand how these two were overlooked or not of interest to other adopters”.

Rufus had a long journey before he found his forever home!
But he’s a very happy chappie now!
Adoption tear jerker of the month!

This poor dog was brought into the refuge on 1st of May in an pitiable state! He had virtually no fur left on his thin bag of bones of a body and eyes drained of hope.

He waits patiently in his box until someone has the time to walk him or bother to stop and say hello.

Both found good homes and are happy!
Adopted after care and coiffeur from Katrina!
A life from hell to heaven on earth!

Recovered, fit, happy and homed!

Thanks to a wonderful couple Tango made it out to a happy life!

Poor Tango has suddenly given up and is now going down hill fast! He needs to get out urgently! He has stopped taking notice and just lies in his cage – he’s got lots of sores from the concrete and when he’s taken for walks to try to help him, he beseechingly paws at the volunteers not to put him back in his cell – it’s pitiful and heartbreaking. Please help him he’s such a lovely dog and shouldn’t have to end his days this way.

Cheeky Trix the pocket rocket found her forever home – lucky girl
Happy Jouls has been adopted

Jouls is a very handsome, calm and all round lovely dog. He is 2 yrs old, sociable, non-dominant and will make a lovely family dog. He has a gorgeous silky coat and waggy plume of a tail. He knows the sit command – must have been someone’s dog once upon a time! He will be chipped and vaccinated upon adoption. He needs to get out – he’s full of life and needs a family to associate with again as he has such a kind, calm nature for one so young.Adopted together – happy ending!
Happy to say this poor soul has been adopted now!

Such a beautiful boy yearning for someone to come and love him and take him home! And if you do meet him, you will fall in love with this gentle, handsome dog who is sociable, very loving and they say fine with children and other dogs (though he has not been used to cats). He is obedient and well behaved in the car and would love so much a drive to a new home and happiness. Vick is just at a nice mature and calm age, his date of birth being February 2004. Such charm and beauty should not be wasted any longer. Please contact us at:- doglinks.fr@gmail.com or leave us a comment here if you would like to have more information about this beautiful dog. Thank you.Black has been adopted – so pleased for this lovely dog!

Black is a typical Labrador, ever the “baby” – loves to play, but as you can see he also loves children too and will take any amount of love and tickling! At 3 years old he’s quite boisterous, so needs a firmish hand, as some Labradors do, and a bit of training to show him the rules and boundaries. But in the right hands – a lovely dog! Micro chipped (250 269201041663), vaccinated and ready to go. As with most of the dogs at the refuge in Cahors, they can be sterilised before leaving if new owners wish. Please leave a comment or contact us direct on:- doglinks.fr@gmail.comGigi has been adopted.

Dalco – doglinks first adoption!

Very special Dalco! He’s huge and gentle but was going down hill in the refuge in Cahors because his small cell confined him and he rarely got out for walks – he was a very very sad sight. Dalco was the first dog we put on Doglinks and the night we went ‘live’ online there was an immediate response with an offer of a home! We were so excited, as was the refuge, when they heard the news. Within days Diana went to rescue Dalco and here you see him four months on, happy, magnificent and settled. His story led the way for many others you see here – we never give up on dogs.Cosette – now Chelsea – has a kind home
SUCH a happy ending!

This lucky lucky boy has been given a great home and is loving it! Pictures to follow! Thank you so much Steve! Rex – a very gentle dog with a lovely heart! Rex’s owner died in February, owned and much loved from a little puppy, Rex has only known kindness and human companionship, which is why he feels so very sad now.
